They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

I had breakfast with my best galpals. First stop was at Heaven and Eggs, then coffee and conversation at Coffee Bean.

Food everywhere!

Senado Square food vendors: where you can fill your tummy just by munching on free taste tests of almond cookies, dried meat, etc...
Cafe e Nata: where you can find authentic egg tarts
McDonald's: yes, i craved their fries even in Macau
Starbucks: it tastes the same the world over!
Angela's Cafe: where the biggest sandwiches known to man are prepared by a very "huggable" chef from New Zealand
Ristorante Il Teatro: exquisite Italian restaurant at Wynn Macau
Pizza and Company: our servers were all Filipinos!
Pizza Hut: "Let's Pizza..... Together..." (barok! haha)
And of course, Chinese noodles in various restaurants

Lovely??? Abu should come up with a better name for his camera. These are shots from my Olsen. I wonder when Abu will upload shots from his camera...

Cokie and my sister Noelle used their phone cams. And maybe, just maybe, they'll join the DSLR club soon as well!

UPDATE:I added more photos stolen from Miday. Haha!

I was reunited with my high school friends last night after years and years of not seeing them southerners. We got rowdy at Hobbes, had a hearty dinner at Texas Roadhouse Grill (which was yummy by the way) and hung out at Bo's.

I wish I didn't live so far away from them.

Photos 1 - 8: Red Ribbon Office Treat. Who doesn't love their palabok?
Photos 9 - 18: My first taste of authentic Thai food at Temptasian. For a girl who can't live without her tabasco, the umph was a little too much even for me! Spicy!
Photos 19 - 23: Rai Rai Ken located at the cinema level of Robinson's Galleria is a must try for Japanese food fanatics on a budget. Great deals, great taste.
Photo 24: Our Father's Coffee, which is on the basement of Galleria, offers the best Benguet Brew. We can be proud of our local coffee beans!
Photos 25 - 32: If Italian is more your thing, head straight to Napoli at the Block SM North Edsa. Their servings are indeed generous; just look at how small we are compared to the pizza. LOL!
Photos 33 - 54: After a full afternoon of shopping, my sister and I felt like having some comfort food. Five Cows at the cinema level of Trinoma offered just that. Though their entres were great, it paled in comparison to their rich, creamy desert line.
Photos 55 - 68: Italianni's is my family's all time favorite Italian restaurant. I liked their new branch at Trinoma as well.

These are photos from the past two weeks. The first seven from an after gym lunch at Pasto, Eastwood City. The majority are of my cousins', Claire and Matt, kiddie party at McDonald's. The last and lonely photo is of the absolutely hearty Grams Burger from Grams Diner located at ABS CBN corporate building.

Cuisine: Other

A few weeks ago, my family and I had a very late lunch one Saturday afternoon at a place called Angel's Kitchen. We were all in the mood for some honest-to-goodness home-cooked meals, and thankfully, we found just that at that humble restaurant located along Connecticut Avenue, Greenhills, San Juan.

The ambiance was very cozy; its tables and chairs looked as though they came straight out of a Stepford wife's own little breakfast nook, tables decorated with fresh flowers everywhere. As soon as we were seated, we scanned their menu and each found something to satisfy our individual cravings.

My sister had just come from teaching a class at the gym. Since that left her ravenous, she had her sight set on a hearty serving of pasta. She ordered the Sardines Pasta, which turned out to be a tad too spicy for her taste. I volunteered to exchange my dish with hers since I was in the mood for something with a little kick. I loved the Sardines Pasta, especially since the combination of textures felt truly divine as I savored every forkfull: al dente spaghettini pasta, flaky bits of sardines and the thickness of the olive-oil-based sauce, topped off with that umph that only chilli can bring to a dish.

My original order, Unagi Shitake Pasta, was also a big hit. My sister loved eating it as much as I would have since we are both a fan of shitake mushrooms. It's chewy texture and smoky flavour meshed well with the eel and oyster sauce.

My mom ordered the Lengue Con Setas as she was feeling in the mood for a familiar Spanish/Filipino viand. It's safe to say that the taste made up for what it lacked in portions. It came with far too much rice and not enough of the lengua to go around. The mushroom sauce was very tasty, though, and the meat itself so tender I almost didn't have to do any chewing.

Our hands-down favorite among all the dishes would have to be what my Dad ordered: Baked Salmon. It was a thick slice of pink salmon topped with steaming mashed potatoes and served with a lite side salad. The slice was taken from a choice part of the fish, which would melt as soon as I put a spoonful in my mouth. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I could eat that dish everyday.

The price range was rather reasonable considering the quality of ingredients they put in. Presentation wise, I liked the way it was so no-fuss-fresh-from-the-kitchen-made-with-love-ish. I would definitely recommend it to families, friends and couples looking to spend some good quiet time together and who are in search of great-tasting, quality home cooking.

The experience of food and drink make life richer. How? See how with these moments captured. In my attempt to share these experiences, see some of these dishes' detailed descriptions. Let's eat!
